Below is a list that you need to review before you request to setup the remote printer

1. In order to establish remote printing access, you must currently be running Line Printer Daemon(LPD) software on your server, or have an intelligent card, such as HP JetDirect, attacthed to your printer.

*** NOTE: Please make sure the printer is a NON-HOST-BASED printer ***

UNIX operating systems have LPD capability.  Novell servers require an NLM(FLEX-IP or NFS), which can be purchased from TELECOM(Please call an ACT Help desk at 41853 for more information).

2. SECURITY: Depending on the remote system, it may be necessary to perform security tasks on your department's computer. The security must allow the host "HUBBLE" to send print data to the remote system. If your system also secures printing at the userid level, then user "VPS" from the host "HUBBLE" must be allowed to send output to you.
3. When you have the LPD capability described in item I, please fill in the form. Please fill in all the fields in the form(use 'none' if you don't have the information or you are not sure how to fill in the field). Please do not specify 'none' on the 'IP' field.BACK TO FORM PAGE
